How To: Holiday Makeup Look

The holidays are upon us, which means all of the parties and social events. It’s also a great excuse to up your makeup game and go a little more glam with your look! In my newest video, I’m sharing a simple holiday makeup look with a bold lip that I promise you can achieve!

Step 1: Moisturize! The winter weather is harsh on skin and can create dryness. Pay attention to the weather and the condition of your skin!

Step 2: Primer. Since the bold lip is the star of this look, we want the skin to have the simple, matte finish that a velvety primer will give you.

Step 3: Foundation. I love a cream foundation with buildable coverage. A red lip can pull the red tones out in your skin, so spend a little more time perfecting your skin. For this look, apply to your eyelids as well to cover any darkness.

Step 4: Concealer. Use under the eyes, brows, on blemishes, and anywhere with redness or darkness you want to cover. I like to blend with my finger first, then with a big foundation brush.

Step 5: Set the foundation and concealer with a loose powder.

Now that your skin is perfectly prepped, we can move on to the eyes!

Step 6: Eyeshadow. I used a cream eyeshadow (actually a bronzer stick!), followed by a powder eyeshadow to add a little pop. Use your ring finger to tap the cream color onto your eyelid, then use a clean brush to blend. Add the eyeshadow on top in the center of your eyelids.

Step 7: Eyeliner. Run the pencil right along your top lashline to define the eye. To give the look of more volume, tightline! This means you run the eyeliner along your top waterline to fill in the gaps between lashes. You can also add a little bit of the cream color to the bottom lashline as a faux eyeliner.

Step 8: Lashes. Apply mascara to both top and bottom lashes.

Step 10: Bronzer. Create a light contour by following both cheekbones, as well as the sides of your nose, with the bronzer. Start where ear begins and follow both cheekbones to create a shadow.

Step 11: Blush. Use a brush to apply the powder to the apples of your cheeks. Don’t be afraid of some color!

Step 12: Eyebrows. I don’t fill my brows very much, but do your thing! Then brush them out with a brow gel to keep them in place.

Step 13: Lips. Start with a lip pencil to outline your lips, overdrawing them into your desired shape if you’d like! Then use the pencil to fill in the rest of the lip. Finish with your favorite red lipstick!

You did it! You’re beautiful and festive and ready for any type of holiday event you have this winter season.
