MakeUp Products for the Girl on the Go

These types of products are perfect for mixing and creating endless looks, but not needing an overflowing makeup bag. I especially love those that are a cream texture that encourages easy application… a dream come true for the girl on the go! A lot of multi-use products are made for both the lip and cheek combo (and sometimes eyes too). This means less time spent trying to find colors that work together AND less clutter in your makeup bag! Sounds like a win-win to me!

LIP/CHEEK COMBOS

  • ILIA Multi-Stick Cheek & Lip - cream formula, perfect for a watercolor wash of color on your cheeks & lips. It’s clean too!

  • Glossier Cloud Paint - gel-like formula, beautifying applied with your fingers. I might be cheating on this one because it’s not technically designed for lips too… but I just like the way it softly stains the lips!

  • MILK MAKEUP Lip + Cheek- another cream formula that creates a soft color on the cheek & lips, also branded clean by Sephora Standards.

Tip: Be cautious using these products on your eyes. I can’t say I haven’t done it myself, but some red/pink hues are not safe for the eye area & can cause irritation, a reaction or worse. It’s always important to read labels prior to use!

USING FOUNDATION AS CONCEALER & VICE VERSA

If I love the texture or coverage of a certain formula, I’ll use it in whatever way that suits me or my client. For example, Tarte Shape Tape is a full coverage concealer and has an incredible matte finish. I often use this all over the face, acting more as a foundation, because I know it will get the job done and be long lasting on the skin at the same time.

On the other hand, on hot summer days when I’m heading out to the Jersey shore, I may just use a light foundation (like NARS Sheer Glow Foundation) and lightly conceal under my eyes for a little brightness with a more natural look. Make your favorite formulas work for you… there is nothing wrong with that!

BRONZER & HIGHLIGHTER AS EYESHADOW

This is one of my favorite tricks when I’m in a pinch for time! Instead of pulling out your eyeshadow palette, use a fluffy eye brush to swipe your bronzer in the crease of your eyelid. It will add instant dimension and the illusion that you have eyeshadow on! Take it up a notch by adding your highlighter to the center of your eyelid & inner corner. An easy, polished makeup look and no one will know you technically skipped the eyeshadow!

EYESHADOW AS BROW POWDER

Brows can really range in color and when I’m looking for a more natural look, I always opt for powder. Having a hard time finding your color? Try an eyeshadow! If you’ve primed your skin & set with an eyebrow gel, you won’t have any issues with wear!

Some of my favorite shades for this are:

I hope these hacks are helpful! I find knowing that these little tricks help me so much on busy days, when I’m traveling or not really wanting to have a full face of makeup! It’s so fun to experiment with these multi-use products and see what you love and what works best for you!
