How to: Faux Freckles!
I’ve always admired freckles. In fact, growing up I had a friend who hated hers and she tried covering them up every chance she got. I never quite understood why… they were gorgeous, youthful, & made her unique in the most natural way. Over time, I’ve met quite a few people who also had a particular disdain for their freckles and they are usually surprised to find out how they have recently become one of the biggest trends! Beyond faux freckles created with makeup, did you know there are tattoo artists that actually specialize in tattooing freckles!? That just proves how far the freckle envy has come!
My goal is always to encourage you to appreciate your natural beauty, but also to have fun with your makeup!! Maybe you’re not blessed with natural freckles or maybe they only peek out in the summer sun… either way, don’t let that stop you! Here are a few tips to creating faux freckles for those freckle enthusiasts like myself!
Start with foundation…
This step is simple, simply start applying your makeup like you do on the daily by applying your foundation and concealer.
Use a faux freckle creator…
Use a faux freckle creator (like a freckle pen or brush) to add freckles to your face where desired. Freckles have many natural patterns… sprinkled across the nose or even a full face. If you’re not sure where to start, you can always search Pinterest or Google for some inspiration photos of natural freckles. Simply mimic the patterns & feel free to get a little creative with your own!
If you have any natural freckles, tracing over those or following that pattern is always a good place to start!
Set your face…
Make sure you tap your faux freckles (whether created with a brush or freckle pen) lightly into your skin. And then, don’t forget to set your makeup with a translucent powder to help with longevity of your final makeup look.
