Wearable Makeup Looks Inspired by the 2000's

1990 - 2000 nostalgia

Let me take you back to the early 2000’s with some Y2K makeup trends! If you know me, then chances are you already know how much I love 90’s culture. There’s just something about those infamous butterfly clips, boy bands and those good ‘ole Tamagotchis, but the early 2000’s was when I really came into my love for makeup & artistry. While there are some trends we will be happy to never see again (white frosty eyeshadow & low rise jeans.. yikes!), we’re seeing some of the fun stuff creep in again. Recreating those legendary looks is easy, but creating them in a way that is iconic, fun and wearable was my goal here! Scroll through this blog to three different looks with a modern spin on the looks of the early 2000’s.

Look #1

Add an instant pop to your makeup with a splash of hot color in the inner corner of the eye! Seriously, it’s that easy! To honor the 2000s (& spring, the current season here in New Jersey!), I chose a neon yellow-green… but this could work with any light, bright color!

Products:

MAC Cosmetics "What's the WIFI?" eyeshadow

Colourpop Lizzie McGuire "Dee-lish!" Blush

MAC Clear Lipglass

Look #2

Neutral…what’s that? 2000’s eye makeup was very much about color (often times, your makeup even matched your outfit!) This smokey eye was created with shades of purple and a pop of peach on the lid. Don’t forget your black eyeliner… a staple for the Y2K girl!

Charlotte Tilbury Cheek To Chic Blush in "Love Glow"
