4 Steps to Get the MOST Out of Your Wedding MakeUp Trial

You’re getting married! SO exciting! Of course you want a beauty team that you completely trust to make you feel the most naturally beautiful and confident on such a special day. And that’s why makeup trials are important. So important, in fact, that I recommend that every single bride has one done before her wedding day. I get lots of questions about trials beforehand because this may be your first time preparing for a big event or getting your makeup done at all! So here are 4 ways to ensure your wedding makeup trial is as successful as possible!

  1. Come prepared!

It’s important that when we come together we both know the look you’re wanting, so bring inspiration pictures with you! This will help speed up the process and help us create your dream look. You’ll also want to make sure your skin is prepped, so stick to your skincare routine before (and after!!) the trial to ensure your makeup looks it’s best!

I’ve actually written up 5 tips for your makeup trial in a previous blog post. To ensure you’re as prepared as possible, give it a read here!

2. Wear your makeup as long as you can!

When possible, I try to schedule trials for my clients earlier in the day. I always tell my brides to keep their makeup on until the very last minute of their day. It’s important to see how it wears. Compare how it looks & feels from start to finish! This allows you to fully see how your makeup will last on the wedding day. It’s likely that hair & makeup will be scheduled early in the morning when your big day comes & you’ll be partying long into the night, so you want to make sure your makeup is flawless & picture perfect for the entirety of your day.

If scheduling doesn’t allow for an early day trial, don’t worry! We will make sure you look perfect on your special day no matter what!

3. Go out for dinner & a drink!

You’re all done up!! Why not make the most of it and put your beautiful makeup look to good use?! I always encourage my brides to head out for the night & don’t be afraid to live a little! Warm nights are a great test of longevity for your makeup. If you know your cheeks to get a little rosy with a drink, make sure to test your makeup coverage with a glass of wine or cocktail! I’m sure I won’t hear too many complaints on this one, huh?! ;)

4. Give honest feedback!

This is SO important & I always ask my brides to report back to me with details of how well their makeup wore. Did it get shiny? Did something not last all night? Was it comfortable? Think about these things and let me know… honestly!! With your complete honest feedback, little tweaks can be made if needed to make sure the look is absolute perfection from the first kiss as Mr & Mrs to the last dance of the night!

Your wedding is the most important day of your life, and you can completely trust that I don’t take the responsibility of your makeup lightly! I understand how special this day is and I 100% want to make you feel as naturally beautiful & confident as possible. With these four tips and the five tips in this blog post, I can ensure you’re going to have the most successful wedding makeup trial possible!
