Wedding Day Prep for your Bridal Party

Congratulations! You’re engaged and your big day is coming up so soon! You have selected the members of your wedding party and they’re so excited to stand by your side, then celebrate with you! It’s your day so we already know you’re going to look stunning, but you want them to look and feel their best too, right? I’m sharing with you four tips on how you can make sure each person in your bridal party is prepared for your wedding day and feels like a million bucks!

  1. Get inspiration

Unless they’ve had professional makeup done before, they probably have no idea what kind of look they want! If you already have a vision for their hair and makeup, create a Pinterest board with bridal beauty and celebrity red carpet looks. Ask them to choose one that your makeup artist can use as an inspiration image when creating their look on your wedding day.

If you’d rather let them choose their own style, ask them to find a few inspiration images of their own to show your makeup artist that day.

  2. Let them know who the makeup artist is

It can be nerve-wracking not knowing who will be doing your makeup on such a big day! You’ve been anticipating this day for a long time and will be taking lots of photos, and so will your wedding party! Tag them in your makeup artist’s posts on Instagram or send out their website or portfolio to give them an idea of who they’ll be entrusting their glam to! They’ll be more comfortable and more excited for your wedding!

(This is also a great way for them to get inspiration. They can choose an inspiration look that your makeup artist has already done on someone else and see exactly what it looked like)

  3. Prepare payment

Handling money is always a little awkward, right? Take care of it ahead of time! If they’re paying for it themselves, collect the money before the morning of your wedding. If you’re paying for it, have the money ready to go the night before too. Either way, assign a point person to handle the payment on your wedding day and make sure it gets to your hair and makeup artists.

Bonus: no one will be digging through their purse or running to the ATM in that cute robe you gifted!

  4. Make sure they have touch-up products

Ask everyone in your bridal party to bring their favorite touch-up products to keep them looking fresh all day and as you party into the night. They’ll want to have a lip color, touch-up powder, and my favorite, oil-blotting sheets.

Tip: Wondering what you should gift them? This makes a great wedding party gift. Give them each a neutral lip color and some oil-blotting sheets in their thank you gifts!
